Rathdowney Information Centre and Historical Museum
|
The Information Centre was formerly the Commercial Bank of Australia and was located on Collins Street. It is one of the town’s oldest buildings and boasted a manager and assistant in the 1920’s when the railway and Mt Lindesay Highway were being constructed.
Within the centre, there are many displays of artifacts, pictorial displays and historical records of events and family histories. The centre also offers a large variety of brochures, books and maps to provide visitors to the area with plenty of information about what is available to see and do, as well as local accommodation options.
